Acadia Healthcare Principal's Assistant in Newton, Mississippi

  • Create and maintain the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) folder.

  • Responsible for ensuring all educational meetings are held within the timelines set by MDE and the students IEP.

  • Assists the Principal and teacher in ensuring the components of the IEP meet the legal requirements and standards set by the Mississippi Department of Education.

    4 Maintain a log of Notice of Committee Meetings and Prior Written Notice for all IEP educational meetings.

  • Attend all IEP meetings as requested by the Principal, recording minutes of the meeting and ensuring all documentation is delivered to referral sources in a timely manner.

  • Monitor and ensure the teachers are reporting progress on the IEP throughout the school year according to SDE requirements.

  • Assist the Principal in ensuring all grade reports and IEP goal sheets are sent to parents/guardians and school districts.

  • Assist the Principal in ensuring all student information remains updated including eligibility and court orders.

  • Assist the Principal with the completion of admission paperwork.

  • Ensure students cumulative records are maintained according to guidelines.

  • Assist the Principal with the day to day operations of the school, running errands, completing documentation, reviewing charts or other information, and assisting with training. .

  • Provide care and/or conduct student interactions in a manner appropriate for the age, culture and population being served.

  • Follow all safety policies and adhere to all workers’ compensation program guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned.
